Sheikh Hibatullah Akhundzada, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, has addressed security officials in Kandahar.
Speaking via radio communication, the leader of the Islamic Emirate offered guidance and emphasized that officials must always be prepared to serve the public.
Sheikh Hibatullah Akhundzada stated: “In the seminar, I told all of them, whether they are district governors or provincial governors, they must take part in night patrols and contribute to ensuring security. If they don’t, let me know.”
In part of his speech, the leader of the Islamic Emirate described night watch and security duties as a significant act of worship.
The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan added: “God will not burn in hell the soldier who stays awake at night for guard duty. This is a great form of worship that God has bestowed upon you.”
Some military analysts see the leader’s nighttime oversight of security forces as a positive step, saying such attention can enhance discipline, morale, and responsibility within the ranks.
Asadullah Nadim, a military affairs expert, said: “This has a very direct and positive impact on personnel. It also influences society as a whole, as the personnel realize that someone at the highest level is monitoring their work.”
Several citizens also expressed that the Islamic Emirate leader’s instructions for active involvement of officials, especially in night patrols, can increase public trust and help reduce crime in neighborhoods.
Rustam, a Kabul resident, said: “The act of questioning whether someone is fulfilling their duty is a form of discipline and a very important measure.”
Imran, another Kabul resident, said: “When the leader of the Islamic Emirate assigns duties to all Mujahideen, it is necessary for them and officials to take these responsibilities seriously and fulfill them.”
The leader of the Islamic Emirate has consistently emphasized simplicity, field presence of officials, and direct engagement with public issues.
According to some analysts, recent directives by the leadership reflect an effort to instill a culture of accountability, discipline, and public service within the country’s security institutions.
