Afghan Rugby Team Finishes Third in Asia

Afghanistan’s national rugby team has claimed third place in the Asian Rugby Championship after defeating Saudi Arabia 17–12 in the third-place playoff match.
The match was held today (Sunday) in Muscat, Oman.
Afghanistan played five matches in the 2025 Asian Rugby Championship, competing against Lebanon, India, Bahrain, Kazakhstan, and Saudi Arabia. The team secured victories against Bahrain, Lebanon, and Saudi Arabia, while facing defeats against Kazakhstan and India.
The championship was hosted in Muscat, the capital of Oman, over two days and featured 13 participating nations: Afghanistan, Bahrain, India, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia.
