A bilateral cooperation agreement between Moby Group and the Afghanistan Badminton Federation was signed on Sunday in Kabul, aiming to broadcast international badminton competitions live on TOLO TV.

According to the agreement, the international badminton tournament will be hosted in Kabul in December this year.

Officials from TOLO World Network state that live broadcasting of these matches is a significant step toward supporting Afghan athletes and showcasing their talents internationally.

Reza Saber, Head of Content at TOLO and Lemar TV, said: “TOLO and Lemar TV have decided to expand coverage of sports events. For this purpose, we signed a cooperation agreement with the Afghanistan Badminton Federation. This is an international tournament, featuring both individual and team matches, and will be broadcast from December 3 to 10 this year.”

Meanwhile, officials from Afghanistan’s Sports Directorate and the Badminton Federation have praised the agreement and live broadcast as a positive and commendable move toward the promotion and development of sports in the country.

Ahmadullah, Head of Physical Education and Sports, stated: “Compared to other media outlets, TOLO has taken the lead in sports coverage and has consistently supported us in the areas of physical education and the National Olympic Committee. We assure you of our continued cooperation across various areas.”

Ershadul Haq Siddiqi, Acting Head of the Badminton Federation, said: “We are very pleased to have signed this agreement with Moby Group and TOLO TV. The international tournament will be broadcast on this network, and we are committed to advancing the sport of badminton.”

According to the Badminton Federation, the international tournament will be held in Kabul from December 3 to 10, and so far, Russia and Uzbekistan have officially confirmed their participation.

Previously, a trilateral international badminton tournament between Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Russia was also held in Kabul.
