Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, welcomed the recent diplomatic decisions by India and Qatar, stating that these steps will enhance trust between Kabul, Doha, and New Delhi.

Mujahid described India’s move to elevate diplomatic relations with Afghanistan as a sign of progress between the two countries. He added that Kabul and New Delhi need each other in various areas, and stronger ties can help safeguard mutual interests.

He said: “India has taken a positive step by upgrading its diplomatic contacts to the level of an embassy. We assure both countries that we will maintain good relations with them.”

This decision by India has also been welcomed by some Indian politicians, who described it as a significant development. They emphasized that regardless of the governing system, Kabul and New Delhi need to maintain diplomatic and trade relations.

The Secretary General of the Communist Party of India said: “This is an important development. Regardless of the type of government in Afghanistan, countries need to maintain diplomatic and trade ties. India’s move to restore full diplomatic relations should remind us of the ups and downs of our relationship with Afghanistan.”

Meanwhile, Suhail Shaheen, acting ambassador of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Qatar, welcomed the decree of the Emir of Qatar appointing Mirdef Ali Al-Qashouti as Qatar’s extraordinary ambassador to Kabul. Shaheen described Mirdef Ali Al-Qashouti as an experienced diplomat and expressed hope that this appointment will strengthen bilateral relations.

Suhail Shaheen said: “He is an experienced diplomat. I have known him from before; he participated in talks between the Islamic Emirate and the U.S. on behalf of Qatar and is fluent in Dari.”

While Qatar has maintained steady relations with the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, ties between India and the Emirate had been limited in recent years. However, following a recent visit by Amir Khan Muttaqi, Foreign Minister of the Islamic Emirate, to New Delhi, those relations have begun to improve.
