The recent military assault by Pakistan’s regime on parts of Afghanistan has sparked widespread reactions.
Former Afghan President Hamid Karzai condemned the attacks, stating that Pakistan must cease its aggression against the people and territory of Afghanistan for its own good and reconsider its policies.
He added: “Pakistan must, for its own benefit, halt its aggression against the people and land of Afghanistan, revise its policies, and pursue friendly and civilized relations with Afghanistan in accordance with international principles.”
Meanwhile, Manzoor Pashteen, the leader of the Pashtun Protection Movement, described last night’s attacks as “a clear manifestation of terrorism.”
He stated that Pakistan’s military regime, under the guise of counter-terrorism operations, has committed acts of terrorism on both sides of the Durand Line and called on all people to raise their voices against these injustices.
Pashteen further said: “Pakistan’s army carried out an attack in Paktika province, in which several local cricket players were martyred and injured. Any rational human being around the world can confirm that these actions by the Pakistani government are not counter-terror operations — they are terrorism itself, not just ordinary terrorism, but its most overt and brutal form.”
On another front, Kaja Kallas, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, urged both the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and Pakistan to extend the ceasefire and refrain from escalating tensions.
In another international response, former U.S. President Donald Trump, during a press briefing, said he was aware of Pakistan’s attack on Afghanistan and emphasized that resolving such conflicts would be an easy task for him.
Trump stated: “I do understand that Pakistan attacked, or there is an attack going on with Afghanistan. That’s an easy one for me to solve if I have to solve it. In the meantime, I have to run the USA, but I love solving wars.”
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Asim Munir, in his latest remarks, accused India of politicizing the issue of terrorism and urged the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan to curb “proxy groups” that, according to him, launch attacks on Pakistan from Afghan territory.
Tensions erupted after Pakistan violated Afghan airspace and conducted airstrikes in Paktika province. In response, the Ministry of Defense of the Islamic Emirate carried out retaliatory attacks.
