Sources: One civilian killed in overnight Pakistani shelling on Spin Boldak

One civilian was killed and four others injured after Pakistani forces fired mortar rounds into Spin Boldak district in Kandahar province late Wednesday night, local sources told Amu.

The shelling reportedly occurred after the Taliban and Pakistani authorities had announced a 48-hour cease-fire. Sources also said the truce was violated in Paktia province, where Pakistani forces fired across the border into Dand Patan district.

The renewed violence came hours after two explosions struck the Taimani area of Kabul on Wednesday evening. Pakistan’s state-run broadcaster claimed those blasts were the result of airstrikes targeting Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) positions.

Following the Kabul explosions, EMERGENCY hospital confirmed it had received 40 casualties, including five dead and 35 injured. The organization said women and children were among the victims, and 10 of the wounded were in critical condition.
