The seven-day visit of Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, to India has concluded.

In his final meeting in India, Amir Khan Muttaqi met with the family of Sheikh-ul-Hind Maulana Mahmood Hasan, one of India’s most prominent Muslim scholars and a pioneer of the country’s struggle against British colonialism.

He stated that the Islamic books taught in India are being practically implemented in Afghanistan.

The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Emirate added: “The books that scholars study here are being practically applied in Afghanistan.”

Muttaqi, who was praised and honored by the family of this religious scholar, said that the dream of establishing an Islamic system in Afghanistan, particularly in Kabul, has been fulfilled.

He further added: “We are pleased that there is a deep and historic connection between Afghanistan and the Muslims of India, especially the scholars of Deoband. We hope these relations continue to prosper.”

A member of Sheikh-ul-Hind Maulana Mahmood Hasan’s family said: “What you are talking about, we had only read in books, about how an Islamic system like that of Abu Bakr Siddiq (RA) operates. Now we are seeing such a government with our own eyes. There are many Muslim countries, but we had never seen political Islam in practice before.”

The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan arrived in India after participating in the Moscow Format meeting. During this seven-day trip, which concluded today (Wednesday), he met with Indian officials, businessmen, and members of the Hindu and Sikh communities, and also visited several religious schools.
