A number of political activists and tribal elders, while expressing their support for the forces of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, condemned Pakistan’s recent airstrikes on parts of the country and its violation of Afghanistan’s airspace.

They called on Pakistan to stop violating Afghan airspace and to refrain from escalating tensions with Afghanistan.

Tribal elder Shah Alizai said: “We call on the people and the government of Pakistan to restore the brotherhood we once had — a time when we did not need visas to travel to each other’s countries. Such movement benefits both nations.”

Sayed Farhad Akbari, deputy head of the Afghanistan Sadat Council, added: “We are proud of these heroic forces who have shown the world their ability to defend the country’s sovereignty. They have responded to Pakistan’s malicious acts and aggression, which reveal its weakness and which it seeks to project onto its neighbors.”

In addition to condemning Pakistan’s airstrikes on Afghanistan, these political activists urged Islamabad to revise its policies toward Afghanistan.

They warned that escalating tensions would harm both countries and called on Pakistani religious scholars and the public to work toward changing their government’s policies regarding Afghanistan.

Mohammad Akbari, the second deputy head of the Shia Ulema Council of Afghanistan, said: “We condemn Pakistan’s recent aggression against our country.”

This comes after Pakistan carried out airstrikes on parts of Paktika province on the 17th of this month, causing financial losses to civilians.

In response, the Islamic Emirate launched retaliatory attacks on Pakistani positions, killing and wounding more than 80 Pakistani soldiers.
