Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Foreign Minister, who is currently on a visit to India, said in a press conference that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan seeks positive relations and competition with other countries.

Muttaqi added that based on this policy, the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan will never become hostile toward one country because of its relations with another.

He said: “The purpose of a balanced policy is that we do not become enemies with one country because of another, and we do not seek hostility with one major power because of another major power.”

The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan also stated that after the return to power and conducting major operations against Daesh (ISIS), the group no longer has any presence in any part of Afghanistan’s territory.

He further added that during the presence of NATO and the United States, major Daesh centers existed in Afghanistan; however, the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan had been fighting them even before regaining power.

Muttaqi said: “During the presence of NATO and the U.S. in Afghanistan, large Daesh centers existed in various provinces of the country. Even then, we fought against them, and when the Islamic Emirate took control of the entire country, we launched major operations. Now, across Afghanistan, not even an inch of land is under the control of Daesh or any other group.”

Asadullah Nadeem, a military affairs analyst, also commented on the matter, saying: “The issue of Daesh is a regional and global matter, and it requires cooperation from regional and international countries.”

This comes as earlier, Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, had stated in a press conference that Daesh training centers are located in Balochistan, Pakistan.
